Stacey Pullen

Detroit second-wave techno DJ and producer, mentored by Derrick May, who put out his first record, the 1992 Bango EP, on the Transmat offshoot Fragile. Stacey Pullen's 1995 album as Silent Phase, The Theory of Silent Phase, came out on Transmat and R&S and is still his best-known work. He folds the swing of house and garage into a tribal-leaning techno sound, and has run his own label, Blackflag Recordings, since 1998.
