Smoakland
An Oakland duo whose dubstep leans on old-school weight and NorCal hip-hop rather than modern sound design, filed under "dirty bass" by most people who write about them. Smoakland's Smoak Sesh EP came out on Zeds Dead's Deadbeats, with other releases landing on Wakaan. They work in drum & bass too, and both styles turn up in their recorded sets. Their Lost Lands B2Bs with Mersiv and SIPPY are among their most-heard performances.
